Oligoelements such as Zinc, Cobalt, and Nickel are enzyme cofactors. For example, Zinc has real dermatological science behind it. It's a cofactor for hundreds of enzymes, including the matrix metalloproteinases and collagenase involved in tissue remodeling, and it's part of Cu/Zn-superoxide dismutase, one of the skin's key antioxidant enzymes. It supports keratinocyte turnover, skin re-epithelialization, and calming inflammation — which is where the "firmer, clearer, faster-healing skin" claims come from.
